Special Pathogens Research Network Limited, Uganda

 Our Plan

In 2015, we were able to start 5 of our journals and by the end of 2015, we got the the ISSN number from France for our Special Bavterial Pathogens Journal [SBPJ]. We also applied for the ISSN number for two more journals Special Viral Pathogens Journal [SVPJ] and Special Pathogens Review Journals [SPRJ].We have consolidated the MIRU-VNTR genotyping workshop which we have been doing at the molecular biology laboratory, Department of Microbiology, College of Health Sciences, Makerere University, Kampala Uganda. In 2016, we hope to start PCR workshop, Molecular phylogeny, Sequencing and Bio-informatics workshop at different locations in Uganda.

The challenges are enormous and the resources are highly limited. We therefore intend to use our first four years of existence [2011-2015] to establish a sustainable system and  structure to support the system aimed at waging a result oriented war against the identified special pathogens and associated disease in resource.

We will consolidate our capacity building efforts by 2015 so that we can enter the second phase of our strategic development plan from 2016 to 2020 which should be grant acquisition, community out reach and information disemination through our journals.
