 Medical Camp


Once again we showcase the April 2015 free Medical camp sponsord by Special Pathogens Research Network Limited [Spparenet Ltd] Uganda. Our network organized this free medical camp again with the Association of Allied Health Sciences students Association of Kampala International University, AASSKIU.

There were free health education and promotion, free laboratory investigations of common illnesses, free clinical services and prescription, free drug dispensing, free referals for specialized medical services and many more. Over two thousand community residents were seen in two days and over 1500 consenting participants received free drugs for different illnesses and free laboratory investigations.

Overall mission statement of our workshops

To provide high quality, value driven, patient centred services based on best practice, research and evidence which are sensitive and responsive to the needs of the population, service users and providers.

Expected competencies at the end of the workshop

a.       Operate a quality management system to integrate the organisation, procedures, processes and resources of a Department;

b.      Set quality objectives and plans in order to implement this quality policy;

c.       Ensure that all staff is familiar with the quality policy, all procedures relevant to their work and the quality manual;

d.      Commit to the health, safety and welfare of all its staff; visitors to the Department’s laboratories will be treated with respect and due consideration will be given to their safety while on site;

e.       Commit to comply with relevant environmental legislation;

f.       Uphold professional values and comply with good professional practice and conduct.

g.      Staff recruitment, induction, training, development and retention at all levels so as to provide a full and effective service to its users.

h.      The proper procurement and maintenance of such equipment and other resources as are needed for the provision of the service.

i.        The collection, transport and handling of all specimens to ensure the correct performance of laboratory examinations

j.        The use of examination procedures that will ensure the highest achievable quality of all tests performed.

k.      The reporting of examination results which are timely, confidential, accurate and clinically useful

The assessment of user satisfaction, in addition to internal audit and external quality assessment, in order to produce continual quality improvement
