Data analysis and management

Data Analysis is the process of systematically applying statistical and/or logical techniques to describe, condense, recap and evaluate data. Various analytic procedures “provide a way of drawing inductive inferences from data and distinguishing the signal  from the noise present in the data”. While data analysis in qualitative research can include statistical procedures, many times analysis becomes an ongoing iterative process where data is continuously collected and analyzed almost simultaneously. An essential component of ensuring data integrity is the accurate and appropriate analysis of research findings.

Our data analysis and management course will help you to interpret and analyse economic data from sources. You will learn to better understand the original sources of such data, as well as to critically interpret graphs and summary statistics. The module will also familiarise you with applying techniques of data analysis to different empirical contexts, including the use of statistics, such as regression output and coefficients.

At the end of our workshops the paricipants should be able to do the following

  • Acquire the necessary skills to conceptualize and analyse any data
  • Select data collection  and appropriate analysis methods
  • Draw unbiased inference
  • Analyse inappropriate subgroup
  • Follow acceptable norms for data management in divers disciplines
  • Determine the statistical significance of different types of data
  • Measure lack of clearly defined objective and outcome
  • Provide honest and accurate analysis with high precision
  • Improve the overall manner of presenting data
  • Decipher environmental/contextual issues in a data management
  • Omprove data recording method ted, Uganda, , [[Innovations for sustainable development !...]
